ASSOCIATED PRESS: Three boys have been arrested for investigation of bullying red-haired students after a Facebook message promoted "Kick a Ginger Day" at a Southern California school.

Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said Monday that two 12-year-olds were arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor battery, and a 13-year-old was booked for misdemeanor cyber-bullying. They were released to their parents.

A total of eight boys are suspected in the Nov. 20 attacks on seven students at A.E. Wright Middle School in Calabasas.

Authorities believe the shoves and kicks were prompted by a message referring to a "South Park" episode satirizing racial prejudice.

 Nobody was seriously hurt.

A message left for the school superintendent was not immediately returned.

I hate that show. Watched it once didn't find it funny.  They should hold them responsible for even suggesting to hurt someone because of hair color.

Apparently the "satire" aspect was over the heads of 12 year olds. But the prejudice part sank in. Some things just aren't funny.  Repeating stereotypes as "humor" doesn't really dispell them, it just reinforces them.

What about the parents? They're letting these ridiculously impressionable little minds watch the show.

I'm not - and have never been - a fan of the show. Luckily my 16-year-old isn't a fan of the show.

That is one show that's not allowed on in my house.  There is no way I would watch it, nevermind let my 8 year old watch it.

Wow. Seems like the rarity these days are bullies that pull harmless pranks or something on another student.  Now kids are doing stuff like this as if it's just another day and a-ok. Is it TV, parents, a society that has become more tolerant of carefree/anything goes behaviors (almost embracing it?) . . . all of the above? Geesh. Take me back to the Lite-Brite and nap time days where hiding another student's sandwich was the talk of the school for a week!

Mike likes South Park. I never loved it! I prefer shows like Family Guy and Futurama. We do not watch South Park in our house. If Mike wants to watch it he watches it on the computer in the office where the kids can't see or hear it. I think 12 is far too immature for this type of show! I think I was like 17 or 18 when it came on and back then I thought it was funny. Now not so much!

I used to watch it years ago but now I think it's stupid. It's definately not for kids to be watching.
