ASSOCIATED PRESS: Massachusetts police say a man locked his two young sons in the trunk of his car while he ran an errand.

Fall River police say Michael Monahan put his kids, ages 3 and 6, in the trunk of his Pontiac Trans Am for several minutes Tuesday morning while he went inside a sailing shop.

According to court records, Monahan told investigators the boys like to play in the trunk.
The 35-year-old Monahan pleaded not guilty Wednesday to assault and reckless endangerment of a child. He was released on cash bail.

A broadcast from WPRI-TV showed Monahan's attorney telling a judge that his client loves his children.

The children are in the custody of their mother.

This Dad is a Moron, firstly,, you never allow children to think it's ok to PLAY in a trunk.  The implications of this are obvious.  He did it just so he did not have to watch and be responsible for them while he went in a store?  Waht does he do when they are home and no one can see?  He is a sorry excuse for a father.

Wow! What was this guy thinking? Another one I just don't understand and then he pleads not guilty. Maybe he is just plain stupid.

This man is fortunate that his stupidity hasn't carried over into the summer! That little boy from Camden died from the heat  while hiding in the trunk of car playing hide and seek with his friends.
