All the 15-year-old Illinois boy wanted to do was play his Xbox.

So last weekend, when his mom and dad took away his video game system as punshment, the teen took action - and called 911 about to complain.

"The Xbox caper started out as a 911 hang-up call," Buffalo Grove police Cmdr. Steve Husak told the Daily Herald.

According to the paper, police traced the call and sent an officer to the house where the teen inquired whether his parents had a legal right to take away his system.

Police then "advised him that he needed to listen to his parents," according to the official report.

There's was no indication why the video game system was taken away or what the teen was playing, the paper reported.

Way to abuse the 911 system and waste the time of an operator that could be used for a real emergency!  Clearly he needs to be taught common sense with the spare time he will now have!

You have to love kid logic. I had a similar situation with my son. He lost his system for punishment. His response was to point out that we didn't pay for it, Grandpa gave it to him as a gift. Point taken, so I took the power cord away. I pay the electric bill. Point, game Mom.

I am thinking that the reason they took the system away in the first place is because he isn't that bright.

The police should ticket the household for this type of annoyance call and using tax-payer money for the service.

I cannot beleive the child had enough audacity to call 911 about getting his xbox taken away.  The police should have talked to the child about emergencies and when it is appropriate and not appropriate to call 911.
